People have the world at there fingertips and do I think this is a good thing no, I don't thing its a good thing because people are on there phones. People an look up the answers to there home work, have a book read to them that is not going to make anyone smarter. In some ways internet and phones are good because you can stay connected to other things. It depend on how and what you use it for.
I agree with you. There is both ups and downs to having the world at your fingertips. Yes, people might look up answers, but only the people who don't care about learning. The people who do care won't take advantage of technology like that. Staying connected is important, but you still need to stay connected in real life instead of just on a phone.
I agree people do use their phones for lots of reasons and it kinda does depend on what people use their phone for.People do use their phones to look up answers for their homework and they should know that they ain't going to get any smarter.I also agree that in some ways phones and the internet can be helpful like being able to stay in touch with family and friends.
Keep writing and responding. GREAT stuff! When others are reading/listening, we tend to "up our game".
Having the world at your fingertips is a good thing because your able to look things up when you need to whenever you want. You wouldn't have to memorize it, you could just look it up whenever. But it could also be a bad thing because you could look something up that's bad too. Think positive on what you look up. Having the world at our fingertips is a good thing. But if you didn't have technology you would have to tell the person to there face or just don't say it at all.
I can't really say that I don't completely agree with you because I think it's good for us to have to memorize things. We need tons of the outside world and your not going to be getting it if you sit in your room all day on your phone.
Having the world the world at our finger tips is good and bad. It is good because you have ways to help you with anything you need. Even just knowing that you have someone to talk to is comforting in some way. It can be bad though because of all the influences the internet has on everyone. I feel like somewhere in everyone they feel the need to be "perfect". Also things like that could make us feel like we have to be like that now even if that's going to make us the bad one's. We get so used to relying on something else to do something for us and it makes us lack the ability to be independent.
Great job, I totally agree. I also think it good and bad because people always rely on other things. I also agree because other people think they need to be perfect. I think you did a fabulous job!
I agree completely the internet can be a dangerous place. But you are right we can know any things we want. But anyone can stumble on your personal info for instance you can get doxed or ddosed. Doxing is when you put out someones personal information. DDosing is a federal crime and you can get locked up for it but it seems that they do not enforce it, but is is the act of hitting of your internet connection so you can not get on the internet. You can get ddosed for 1 min to 1 week. But yes the internet can be helpful if you use it right and bad if you do not.
Having the world world at your fingertips is legit!!! You can look up anything that you want to like if you need a question then look it up and you could look it up at anytime!! It is so balla to have this electronics instead of boring mailing you could just text which is saving money and time its also way faster. This is also a bad thing because then it would mean students and adults are on their phones/electronics way to much. People don't notice how much they are on there phones and stuff. This is my opinion about this.
I agree but think about how bad it could be too. People can use it to steal money from your account or phone bombs things are deadly right now. You gotta make sure that your not stupid online. But good job Elena I'm not saying your wrong just it can be dangerous too
Sometimes I think it is good to have the world at our fingertips, because you can look up anything you want at any time. You can get on social media and see all of the upcoming events, which is a good thing. Then other times I think it is not necessarily a bad thing but not the greatest, because you should know what it is like for some time and know what people long ago had to do. They had to look up things in a dictionary or encyclopedia, or ask someone. Also you had to go up to someone if you had something good or bad to say. Now you can send a text, get on google, or social media to know something.
I totally agree with you Meaghan. I like being able to be on social media and see what's coming up. It's fun to be able to text your friends. Plus it's super nice to be able to look anything up. Great job!:)
I agree. I think it would be great. I think it would help with homework. I also think it would help if you are lonely. Great job!!!!!!!
Great job Meaghan! I totally agree with you, that it is sometimes a good thing and sometimes not a good thing to have the world at our finger tips. I think looking up things quickly is a good idea. Sometimes you just need to look things up fast like if you are in a hurry to go somewhere. Also looking things up in the dictionary or other things is really good to, because people now just need to know how to look things up instead of just searching them on a phone.
I totally agree with you! That's how I look up everything is on my phone. Thanks to all our phones these days. What would we do without them! Nice job Meaghan I agree with you.
I definitely agree with you. It is a good thing to look up almost everything. I think it is better than looking it up in a dictionary because all you have to do is type it in and there your answer is! It is nice that you can look up anything you want at anytime.
I don't think having the world on your finger tips is good. There are so many questions people have and the internet isn't always right. You can't ask the internet person questions or you can tell them your feelings and have a conversation. Sometimes when people text each other they don't know how the other person is feelings or how they acting. Like a person could be sad and the person they are texting wouldn't even know how they felt. On math questions the internet sometimes can't explain it to you the way it's suppose to be taught.
Good job I totally agree with you but I also think that it can be both ways, both good and both bad. I agree with your statement with when you look up a math question it sometimes doesn't explain it very well i think that is so true.I also agree with emotional feelings.
I think this is awful!!! You should not have your world at your fingertips!!!!!!!
But, it could be good also. You can keep in touch with people who are long distance and talk to friend. I get that It could be bad too because of bullying and things in that sort, but if people learned to use it right and not be dumb, it would be good and safe.
It's not good to have it at your fingertips. Kids get bullied. You need to do stuff in person. And you can't do what's taught because you have a calculator on your phone.
Good point Bo. I agree with kids getting bullied online and doing stuff in person would be the better way to do it. But also, I disagree. Having the world at your fingertips could be a good and bad thing. For example, what if we didn't know how to do something and none of your friends and family knew either? The next thing we turn to is the internet.
I disagree having the world at your fingertips is a good thing. It can be good to call someone or text someone because they can't always be at their phone or have it charged so it is good to text or call. It can help a lot with home work just look it up on how to do an equation like that. So overall you should have the world at your finger tips it can help a whole lot.
I totally agree with you Allie. It's true, the internet isn't always right and you can't have a conversation or share your feelings with them. I think you made a great point. I like how you explained everything. Great job Allie!
I disagree I think it would be good so you could contact others.
I agree with you because the internet is not always right. They give out weird answers to questions. I also agree that when people text you you don't know their mood at all. That can be bad. I agree, good job Allie!
I think it is a good thing to have the world at your fingertips because if you have a word or a math problem that you need help with you could look it up to figure out how to do it or how to spell it. If you want to look up how something looks like if theirs a cool car or something that you want to see it you can. If you have a question you could type it in and see the answer or instead of mailing a letter you could email someone. If you want to talk to someone instead of talking to them in person. So thats why I think it is a good thing to have the world at your fingertips.
I agree but looking up the answer is technically cheating right? It is so much easier to just work the problem out. I agree with the car fact about the internet. I also think that emailing is a lot easier than sending a letter.
Having the world at our finger tips? Well in some sense yes we do such as technology. We can search anything we want. We do not have to mesmerize things or God forbid write a letter when we can just text right. I think that cursive is harder and harder to find. Also there was no cyber this cyber that if you wanted to do something you have to have the guts to do it. If you wanted something you did it now you search it or have a robot do it and for Pete's sake we can not even walk mini segway but technology is not bad you can learn a lot but please do not abuse technology because to many people already do abuse it.
I agree that having the world at our fingertips is a good thing. In the years with no technology you had to have the guts to do it. And I agree that to many people abuse technology. They don't think before they text something or post something. Let's just say I completely agree with you Josh.
I am blessed that I have technology to look stuff up on. People ask me if I lack one on one skills since I got the phone but I don't actually. If I have my phone out while I'm talking to someone and my parents are with me they will ground me or just take it. 99% of the time it is ground me... I am glad to have something that I can use daily to do work that needs to be done.
Having the world at your finger tips is not a good, because we don't learn anything. We need to learn how to do things like people back then used to. People had to call people on the phone to talk about things now we can just text people. All we have to do now is type something in and we get the news, and back then they had to actually read something like the newspaper.
I definitely agree with you about how we don't learn much. Honestly though, what would we do without it? We've gotten so used to looking things up instead of actually solving the problem by yourself. We will never truly be independent because the internet will always be there. Overall I agree completely! Great job!
I agree with you on the side where it's a bad thing. Sometimes I feel bad for our parents because I think they are kind of jealous. They are like, we didn't have those back then. I do think the Internet can be important though when you need to know something.
I think that having the world at our fingertips is a good and a bad thing. It's good because you know that if you have a question, it is going to be somewhere on the internet. Also, you will always be able to talk to someone without having to get off you couch so you will never be alone. Having the world at our fingers can be a bad thing, because in a way we are cheating ourselves. Once in a while we should solve problems on our own instead it up on the internet. It could also be bad because if the internet somehow just disappeared,(not likely) but honestly our human race would have a mental and physical breakdown.
I think that this is true. It is a good and bad thing to have the world at our fingertips. I think you are right about the mental and physical breakdown's. I think it would be a good and bad thing also. Good job Erin.
I think that although there are lots of bad things about our ready access to technology it is in general a good thing. In school it is much easier to do our assignments and turn them in without worrying about losing them. It is super easy to talk to your friends wherever they are and it's easy to be social online. The only downside our access presents is that is has made our generation more cowardly. Before tech you actually had to meet your friends ask out that girl you like in person. Now most people are too scared to do that kind of stuff because they have access to technology. Another good thing about tech is that it is extremely easy to access information. You don't have to look through massive encyclopedias and dictionaries, you can push a few buttons and have what you're looking for in your hand in seconds. In conclusion I think that technology is a valuable asset to our generation.
I agree turning in papers is way easier now that we can have them on computers. It is easy to talk to your friends because we have all the social media and text messaging. Now that we have all this technology it is true it is way easier to ask a girl out just by sending her a text. It is not good for learning from the Internet using an encyclopedia would be way better for education.
Having the world at our fingertips is awful!!! Instead of listening to the radio or going to the game you can look at a TV or your Phone. We used to be able to look at the paper for the game and look at articles and now we can google search it. This world should go back to newspapers for info! Also, if you're going to send something to somebody send a letter! Or like if you want to ask for something you usually have a keyboard to help you. The only good thing is texting because if your far away then it sends right away. I like all the apps and all, but it's not good for you to say and abbreviate!! If your asking someone and it's not urgent then do it in person!!!!
Having the world at our fingertips I think is a good/bad thing because if we need help with something or have a question about something that no one else can answer you can just look it up one the internet . But then again the internet is taking away from just grabbing a encyclopedia and just looking it up.
I agree with you but tell me one time that you looked something up in the encyclopedia I think you mean the dictionary but you know I guess I won't critique your grammar but other than that I agree with you keep up the good work Terrance hopefully you write more next time so I can read that as well.
I would think that having the world at your fingertips would be a good thing. It could be helpful by knowing what you need like how many teaspoons go in 2/3 tablespoons. And other things and you can also know how much protein is is an omelet so you won;t eat to much. it can just help in so may things even school related if you are stuck on a math problem you can look up how to do it. Even your social things like if you can;t go somewhere or you want to go there you can text your friends and know what you are doing or where you are going. It just makes everything easier just look it up and then you will know what you need and more.
Although it might have a lot of bad things about it, having the world at your fingertips can be a good thing too. It is a lot easier to search something up on the internet than trying to find it in a book, staying socialized? no problem. All you gotta do is find that person and text them, some people have something called Social Anxiety and that means they are scared of talking to people, it helps them be themselves because they don't worry as much. What if you have a friend that moved to a different country or state? Are you going to write a letter that takes days or even weeks for a letter to come back or are you going to text or call them? It's really nice to video call too, it just feels a little more real than texting or calling. But remember, there's a real world out there, not everything revolves around your phone or computer.
I agree because you could just look up anything you want. Some people are afraid to tell them to their face, you can just text them. Good job Cara!!
I agree with you it can be a good thing and a bad thing. Some people are always on their phones and never off it but some people are outside and enjoying life. They CAN write a letter, or visit sometimes, but the can't always do it on their phone. Thanks for posting that Cara!
I totally agree with what your saying! Some people do have problems with talking to people face to face. If friends move away then you would want a way to talk to them and technology makes it easier. I think what you are saying makes perfect sense.
I think it is a good thing that people have the world at there fingertips. One reason is because if we ever get lost we can always pull out our phones and find out where we are. Another reason is because we can talk to people we never get to see. The last reason is because we can have self entertainment in our hands. That is why I think it is a good thing to have the world at our fingertips.
You have the world at your fingertips and I don't think it is the best thing because we are starting to depend on our electronics a lot more than our selves and I think that is bad but I mean you do meet a lot of new people across the world just by sending a simple text and it does make most things a lot easier but I don't think life should be that easy I think if you want to talk to someone you should have to meet them face to face if you want to meet up I think you should have to make preparations not just text someone "hey do you want to go out and do something?" I just wish that we had to actually work to talk to someone like you have to run to their house and talk to them not just sit their and wait until you get a reply from your phone if you ran their then you would get an instant reply and it's either a yes no or later and please put some real effort into bullying at least get off of your butt and talk to them because you don't get a tone from a voice in a text message unless they actually try and if you're intentionally hurting someone they are probably not going to text you a paragraph about how they feel and how you're hurting them they while probably just say "okay" or "sure" they just don't care so stop but to wrap this up I don't think it's the best thing to have the world at your finger tips and that's my opinion.
This is a great passage. I am with you sometimes we need to get off and talk to people regularly instead of texting them.
Having the world at our finger tips is the best things ever. We can do and get everything much quicker it has helped a lot. We can talk to people and we can invite them to things. We can go on social media and catch up with the world.
I agree that it is a good thing to have the world at your fingertips. If you need help you can look it up.If you need to look at a picture of something like a nice car.To talk to family if they life a far away.
I agree with you. It's a lot easier to talk to people on text other than face to face conversations, but people need to share their feelings face to face sometimes so they understand more. Other than that, I agree with you. Great job Kay!
Great job Kaleb. I am with you on this. Sometimes I think we need to put the technology down though. I would agree though.
I think it would be cool to have the world at your fingertips. I also think it would be bad though because you could use it for bad things. I would use for only help or if I needed to look for something. I would just love that. I would also like it because you can ask your friends about it.
I agree it is helpful for like helping you with something. You can use it to help you with a report or something. You can get help from it for your home work. Also asking friends is a good idea.
I think having the world at your fingertips is a good thing, you can do basically anything, from listening to music, to watching shows and playing games. You can also shop online. Plus, you can call and text people. There are all sorts of things you can do! Of course, nothing is perfect. Hackers can steal your info. So, I guess having the world at your fingertips is in the middle. What do you think of having the world at your fingertips?
I think you are right I mean you could get hacked but you can also buy text, buy and loads of other stuff.
I really don't think it's a good idea to be able to hold the world in our fingertips. Now almost everyone world consists of phones, TVs computers and anything else that keeps us from communicating with eye to eye contact. We need to know each other in a personal way instead of just knowing who someone is though a screen. A lot of bulling happens on the internet that's why this can be dangerous for some people! Just think about, how many people do you think in this world have been bullied online? I bet there are a lot of people who have been. We need to just make this stop, and that's why I don't think being able to hold the world in your fingertips is a good idea.
I think having the world at our fingertips is good because there are benefits. You can look up anything at anytime. During school or at home. how are people getting a hold of there friends? ya. By texting and calling. How else would you be able to if your couldn't drive to go and talk to them If you don't have a phone that is good too because people are starting to depend on there phones instead of them and others. I think it is cool having phones but if you didn't you can always socialize and not be so clung to you phone.
Having the world at my fingertips would be a bad thing because you need to be connected to the outside world. If you just had a phone and "thought" you had everything you wanted, it wouldn't be everything. You'd become a fat couch potato. What about sports and talking to people face to face. I also don;t think it would be a good idea because people today are starting to depend on their phones.
I agree because sometimes you need time off you social life and go into the "outside world". People shouldn't text them and say something they need to tell them in person.
I both agree and disagree. You do need to learn to balance your internet life with your real one, but if you do you can see what your friends are doing, check out some awesome stuff, and still go outside and do stuff like ride your bike and stuff like that
I think having the world at your fingertips would be a good thing. You could talk to anyone you would like and you could do anything you wanted without anyone stopping you. If I had the world at my fingertips I would probably get a picture with Luke Bryan and Garth Brooks. I also would have the chance to play volleyball with world champion volleyball players. I think that would be awesome. You could just do anything you want to. You could also text any famous person you would like and be like "text me back" and they would because that's what you asked for. I think it would be cool.
I didn't even think of that! I agree with your statement.
I agree with you completely! Holding the world at our fingertips is a good thing at times. We can do a ton of things with our phones that the examples you mentioned. I like the way you think about these things! :)
If I had the world in my fingertips it might be hard to make sure you are doing the right thing online. You might get mad and say something you might regret. It could be fun because there is no one to stop you from doing what you want. You would always be up to date on what is knew and Never go out of style. You would always make conversation because new information will always come in
If I had the whole world in my fingertips I would win the lottery and figure out which ticket is the jackpot.I could buy a mansion with a limousine.I could basically do anything in the world I could go anywhere at anytime. I could do whatever I want. That is too much power though. I wouldn't want to have the world at my fingertips because eventually it would get boring. You would get sick of it because eventually you do all of it with nothing else to do.
Ok, your, like, the ONLY other person who chose to do BOTH the ups and downs of having the world at your fingertips. Good job!
I think having the world at your fingertips is such a good thing because you can just look stuff up if you need help on homework or how to build something. Being able to go on the Internet to play games and look at educational websites. You can also post pictures with your friends on social media and then when you get older you can go back and see who your old friends were and what they looked like. You can also see if they're your friends still today.Having the world at our fingertips can be a bad thing because we can't learn the same way as looking it up in a book.
Nice job Reid the was pretty great. You would never forget me though. Right? Anyway it would be cool to see what they still look like. Nice!!!
Having the world at your finger tips can be good and bad. It can be good if you are worried about something you can quickly look it up and see if it's anything to worry about. It can be bad because of bullying, bullying happens a lot on the internet, and it needs to stop. Bullying is not a good thing it makes the worst of peoples' days or lives. Having the world at your fingertips can be good by, needing to know something quickly, or just talking to people. But having the world at your fingertips can be bad by, bullying, and false websites.
Having the world at your fingertips can be a good thing and a bad thing at the same time. It is good because when you need to find something out or look something up we can look it up on your phone or something. It's also good when there is an event coming up and you need to find out when it is. Sometimes I don't think it is though because long ago when everyone had to figure something out they would have to look in a dictionary or an encyclopedia. So I think it is good and bad at the same time because there are good and bad things about both of them.
I think it would be a good thing to have the world on your finger tips, so you could text all of your friends and family, but it also wouldn be a good thing either cause random strangers can hack into your accounts our get your phone number easily. If you like to online shop, They could easily hack into that stuff then you´ll have no more money.
Having the world at your finger tips is good and bad, depending on how you use it. It´s good if you use it the right way, but bad if you use it in the wrong way.
Agreed!!!!!!! At least some people get it. Some people think it's so bad because it's rotting our brains from being on it so much. It is good for information and socializing. Good job Halli:)
It´s really good that we have the world at our finger tips because we can know anything anywhere. we can buy anything.
Having the world at your finger tips would be good because then you could always be connected to your friends and you could always know what is going on around the world. If the weather would be bad then you would know when to get to shelter. If you needed to call someone that you don't know there number to then you could just search it and call them.
Having the world at your fingertips can have its advantages and its disadvantages. An advantage would be that you could do whatever you wanted, whenever you wanted to. People could try to tell you what to do, but you wouldn't have to listen to them! It would be thrilling just knowing that nobody could tell you what to do, but you have to remember that there are still disadvantages. For example, something bad could bad could happen and people would hate you. Kind of like you run the world.
I think it's great that we have so many thing that we didn't have. Like smart phones and computers that are like note pads. Even though these thing have made a big change to the world we live in now doesn't that there isn't bad thing that happen because of these things. Like now there cyber bulling and kids don't go out as much.
I think having technology is a blessing and a curse. People like Isis, but there are several ups to this we can stop crimes they cause or find information that is important like if there is some thing you need to know like homework then you could search it up stuff like that but there could be very more important things.
Yes and no. Having the world at your fingertips can be good but also bad. It can be good if you need to find information urgently, like medical help. You also can use it to find stuff out about things that you couldn't find anywhere else. Getting a hold of friends and family can be hard and a device makes it easy.It can be bad because you might take advantage of it. You could be doing things you shouldn't or talking to people you don't know. Another reason it could be bad is that you my never get off. You might always feel the need to have the world at your fingertips. I want to know about the world, but I want to find out more about the world without a device.
Having the world in our fingertips can be a good thing. You see people use the internet on their computers and mobile devices ever since technology improved.
Having the world at your finger tips can be a good and bad thing because it could cause you have to tell things over the phone, but it can be good because you can look up things. Like looking up a map, looking up songs, or looking up a calculator for homework. It can be bad because you have to tell things over your phone, and that can cause conflict. You might have to break-up with someone, you might have to tell them you have to move, or just something bad.
I agree with you Anna because, its good to be able to look things up. Like using a map, looking up songs, or using a calculator. Also it can be bad because you have to tell people things over the phone and it can cause conflict. Good job!
I love having a phone and kindles and mini
i pads. They are good for so many reason but it can be not the best . If we could just have cyber bullying and inappropriate pictures be gone there would be nothing but compliments from me and a lot of other people. It's nice to be able to take pictures and go online for stuff like this blogging for school and especially keep in touch with friends and family. it is great that we have great teachers and parents that lived 30 years ago. Now there is so much more going on with phones to mini i pads and tons more like that!
Having the world in your hands could be a good thing. It could be good in multiple ways. It could be great to look up and text people or anything really. I would look up anything that I had to. I would get all my homework done real quick. It would be the best thing ever. I would love it.
When you have the world at your fingertips it can be bad or good. Some good things is that you have answers, apps that help with homework, social media. Those are all things that can help you when you are on your phone. There can always be more good things then just that. There can also be bad things. You don't do stuff outside your phone, you are on your phone 24/7, and you don't pay attention to your schoolwork or your family. You can always do more then just being on your phone. There is always a lot more then just games and social media. There is your family and friends. You have a lot more potential then you think, but sometimes being on your phone is good. You can look up how to do something and use Facebook and Twitter to look up when your school has stuff going on. It is like you have the whole world on your fingertips, but you don't. Just remember that.
I realy like your opinion on both sides of it. You are right to people are on there phones 24/7 when they should be outside or with family.
Having the world at your fingertips would be a good thing. You could look up how to build a certain thing. You could contact some one if you need help. You can contact your friends when you need them. you can do much more. Not having any of that would be tough. It would be hard to do stuff that you don't know how to do without it.
I disagree with you having the world at your finger tips is a bad thing because people should have to walk up to someone to ask the to hang out instead of texting them.
I agree. If you couldn't search up how to build something then you would be done for. If you couldn't contact someone that would be really bad because it could be an emergency and then you could get hurt. If you didn't have the world at your fingers then you could be in great trouble.
It would be really hard if you didst have any of it I completely agree with that! It can be a good or a bad thing. If we always had to have that on your fingertips that would be like 24\7 on your phone ipad ect. I agree with your explanation .
I think it's a good thing to have the world at our fingertips at times. You can look up anything you want ever time you would like to. People can reach each other across the world easily with the world at our fingertips. At the same time though, a lot of people get caught up on the internet all the time. One time I went out to dinner with my family, and I looked at other families all sitting there on their phones not interacting with each other at all. I know people like to stay updated with Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, etc., because I am one of those people. It is really cool to see what other people are doing at the time. I can tell you one thing though, your life isn't online.
I totally agree with you. People do get caught up on the internet all of the time. We just need to appreciate things like people used to. When I go out to eat with my family, I also see other families not interacting with each other, they just sit on there phones. Great job Addison.
Having the world at your fingertips is good and bad. Like for instance you could use the ´world' for staying connected but you'd could just meet people face to face. I feel like since we have the world at our fingertips, if it was taken away the world would start a war. We've just come across this great technology and we don't wanna give it up. People need to realize that the technology is ruining us slowly. We aren't learning anything by looking answers up, or looking for a summary of the book you were supposed to read. If there is ever a power outage where we won't have anything, we won't be prepared.
If the world was at my fingerprint I would I would go crazy. If you had that happen to me I would sue the U.S I don't want all my fingerprint all over the world. I have my fingerprint on my tech. and that is it. My fingerprint would be very popular if it was all over the world, but I still don't want that to happen. I do not like all kind of tech.
Well, I'm pretty sure that's not what it means but it kind of makes sense. If you sue the U.S for that then you'd probably lose the case honestly. But I do think it'd drive me crazy too. This is kind of confusing to read but good job anyways.
Good Job Chase but the story was supposed to be about the world being at your fingertips not about your fingerprint. But that´s okay. Your spelling was a little wrong but that´s fine everybody does it. Good job at talking about your fingerprint though.
I agree it would be super complicated to have your fingertips all over everything. It would be super hard to have a ton of technological everywhere. I agree with your explanation with a little technological . Good job!
There are tons of awful things about having the world at our fingertips, but generally there are way more good things. Assigning and turning in assignments are now easy. There is now no cluster of paper in that one kid's folder when you have all the data on your computer. You can find something out like, "what is a bag phone" in just a few clicks. You can get a hold of friends and family way easier than ever before. Having a device can help you learn more about the world. Now instead of everyone watching one video all at once, you can do it at your own pace. Technology is getting better and better, but it is also getting worse.
Having the world at your fingertips can be a good thing but also it can be a bad thing. Here is why it is bad because bad people like Isis and criminals in general are always using them to commit terrible crimes. But they can be good because you can talk to friends and family as well you can entertain yourself that is what I think about having the world at your fingertips
I agree with you Dillon because if our cool technology gets in the hands of terrorists it can really affect the way we live.
I think having the world at your fingertips is decently neutral. There are advantages and disadvantages. It is a very essential informant. There are many ways other than this can help you, and expand your knowledge. There are also lots of disadvantages such as you cannot talk face to face. There can be more misunderstandings when you are saying things online instead of talking face to face. There is a long and extensive list of all the advantages and disadvantages. In conclusion, internet can be a resource but can lead to misunderstandings.
I agree with you Drew. I think that there are advantages and disadvantages to having so much technology. It's good because you can readily access any information you're looking for. But it's also made people big wimps, instead of seeing your friends or asking out that girl you like in person, most people do it in texts or e-mail now. In conclusion, technology can be a good and bad thing for people.
To have the world at your finger tips is sometimes a good thing because it depends what you do. Because most of the time people are on their phones. You can look at stuff that is online but you can also do it without your phones. I hope people make a good choice what they do in life because you can't change the future what you do every second is stuck with you for the rest of your life. I hope all of you make a good choice.
Is having the world at your fingertips a good thing? I don´t think that having the world on your fingertips is a good thing. If you were to have the world on your fingertips, if you think about it you would not get the chance to have adventure. You would not get the chance to be a dependent person. It would be awful knowing that you are so lazy that you have to use your phone for everything you need, or want. If you have to use your phone to have fun that just shows what kind of person you are. In my opinion I would not want anything to do with the world being on my fingertips, but that is just my opinion.
I agree with a few of your points. I think it could be good so you can keep in touch with friends and family that aren't near you.
Otherwise, I do kind of agree with what you think.
I agree with most of your statements. What if you are lost and you can't find your way back, you could look up how to get home on your phone. Or is your family lives far away a phone is a good thing to keep in touch with them. I liked the one where you said, "You would not get the chance to be a dependent person." Good Job.
It's great to have the world at your fingertips sometimes. One reason it's great is because you can plan ahead for something or yo can go on social media and post a picture about how your life is going, but it can also be very bad and by that I mean that you can totally get hacked and get kidnapped or even have your money stolen. You could also get cyber bullied by someone you don't even know. But sometimes it's great to be able to control some stuff but it can also be bad because you don't know how much stress can come with it and you could even lose your job to what you posted or did to someone.
If i had "the world at my fingertips",well I would do a lot with it.I would be able to see everything in the world.I would be able to send help where it's needed.I would be able to talk and message whoever I want by not even knowing them.I would be able to see hear everybody's calls and see everyone's messages, which could be bad or very good.I would be able to buy things on my phone by not even buying it.I could get the most expensive things for free.(Now that would be fun!),
I don't know if it is good that someone has the "world at the tip of their fingers", but I have a personal thought on this subject. I personally think that it would be better if we didn't have it at the tip of our fingers. Why? Well, because it isn't necessary to have an electronic. I would rather write letters to people instead of having it over text. You get to see their handwriting and that makes them unique. You can tell it's them by how they describe things when they write. It makes it much more meaningful. I would like to learn things on research in books, then look at a screen that could make me fall asleep. Our world has, might I say, "weirdly" evolved. It's not bad, but it's really not the best either.
I completely understand why you would think that way. But wouldn't it be a little faster if you just text them. You could always be up to date on what is happening in the world. You would also never run out of things to talk about.
Having the world at your fingertips can be good and bad. It can good if to tell someone something important or if you need help because something happens. It can also be bad like if someone is cyber bullying because it can be hard to find them if they do.
Having the world at your fingertips is a good thing. Yes, it had it's disadvantages like cyber-bullying and things like that but it also has way more advantages than disadvantages. Some advantages are being able to talk to family, talking to friends, looking up information on things, looking up pictures to help you with things, maybe talking to teachers about school work that you missed, and activities that can help you better understand your school work.
I totally agree with all of your statements. I like having a phone to keep in touch with people to. Good Job!
I disagree people are always on there phones. If you want to talk to your friends than go outside get some fresh air and talk to them.If you want to search something up you could ask a friend or family member that might know.
I think having the world at your fingertips is a good thing. I mean once in a while it can be a bad thing, but usually is helps you in many ways like you can use the web anywhere you go. If your felling bored you can hook up a game and start playing. You could call someone at anytime needed. Same goes for texting people. That is why I think having the world at your fingertips is a good thing.
I don't really know how to say I agree in four sentences but you're right. It can be a bad thing at times. But sometimes if you're bored you gotta go outside instead of being glued to your phone. Other than that, I agree 100%.
I think having the world at your fingertips is a good thing... sometimes. A good thing is that you could look up anything you want or if you wanted to by something you just look it up on an online store and have it in the next week or so. Another thing is to keep in contact with family and friends. A bad thing is if you have all of your personal information you could get hacked and lose everything. Also you could get cyber bullied on Instagram, Snap chat, Twitter, or Facebook and that can mess up your entire life.
Having the world at your fingertips can be a double-edged sword it cuts both ways. I will start with why you might want to appreciate it. Without technology how could you talk and connect with others letters? No that would take to long you can just dial a few numbers into your phone to connect with others. That's the side of the blade that strikes the opponent but it will backfire harming you. Bullying has never been more easy with technology now you can be bulled by somebody in the side of the world. Its up to you what you want to do with technology.
Having the world at you fingertips have ups and downs. I like have the world at my fingertips because that I can reach out to my family, and friends that live out of the state. I also can keep up with the games that are away that I can't go to. I bad thing is that people can bully you through what you post or tweet. It can be very distracting during school. If you phone lights up your first instinct to look at it.
Nice story madisen. But people do look at the phones way too much even in school. I wonder what games you can't go to like what sport do you play? I really loved your story.
I agree. If your phone lights up or makes a sound, you automatically want to look at it and its really hard not to.
I really like the way you said all of that. Thinking about what you said has changed my theory a little bit, but don't you think that if you had the world on your fingertips it would be kinda boring not doing anything for yourself. Like going on an adventure to get that thing instead of doing it digital.
Having the internet is a good thing because I can go search for information such as: looking up videos on YouTube, listen to some music on Spotify, look up your favorite animated characters or movies on Google, look up information for my school work, and check and send my emails.
Hi Ethan, I can't say that I can agree with you fully. There are some up and downs about having the world at your fingertips. You show good supporting evidence, but there are many downs. You can't learn anything when your only using the internet to find answers. I can't lie and say I hate the internet. If all you do if look things up you'll never fully know what's out there. You might happen to run into a pole while your walking. That would hurt and be bad. You don't want a black eye because you chose to ignore the world and leave everything to your phone. So let's say no to black eyes and yes to experiences! You'll actually find out that there is more to the world. The world is a big and beautiful mystery.
Yes because you can talk to relatives that live far away. You can use it for homework if you don't have access to a computer. No because you can get bullied on the internet sites. You can get distracted and start to play games instead of learning.
Rachel this is a pretty good story. I agree to your story. There sometimes you need your phone and sometime you don't.
That can be a good and a bad thing. The good thing is you can use it for school and if your friends and family are far away you can can talk back and forth. The bad thing is you can get bullied.
Yes and No. Its a good thing because you can look up important information. Like for class or your job. Then again you might look up something and something else might pop up. Like you look up (The human body) and what comes up isn't what you wanted.
Another upside about it is; say that you move and have to leave your best friend behind. You can chat with them online, but to this is people how you don't know can get private information about you. Such as your email address,Phone number, and house address. My advice to you choose wisely who you give that kind of info. to.
I agree with most of what you're saying. It does have negatives like, things that aren't appropriate popping up. You also do have to be careful on the internet, just like you said. It is also good by talking to friends online that moved away or aren't near you.
I think having the world at your finger tips it good and bad. Good because you can look things up for homework and talk to family you can also stay in touch with friends. Bad because you can get bullied and you can get very distracted.
I think it is very true that it could be good thing to keep in touch in stuff. It could also be bad with bullies too.
I very much agree with you! Very well said! I can be a distraction, but it can also be beneficial.
I agree with you completely. That it is a good and bad thing.I think its good and bad because of bully's and all that. Also it can be good for lots of reasons too.
I agree with you because I think its very important that you don't only see It in both aspects but under stand why. I also think that bullying is increasing with the more technology. I think its safe to say you are very thoughtful about stuff because you look for the good and the bad. Over all I agree with the post, booy!
Having the internet is a good thing because you can use it to get on YouTube. If you don´t have internet you would use up all the data on your smartphones. You would also be able to see where family members are through Instagram and Facebook. You can also talk to friends through other apps and video calls.
I think it would be good and bad at the same time it would be good for like reading book off of the internet and watching funny videos on YOUTUBE. But it can also be bad to because you can get bullied and people post really stupid stuff on the internet like Instagram.
I believe that having the world at your fingertips can be a good thing....but also a bad thing. My reasoning? Well, let's find out. Let's start with the bad. Some bad things about having phones and such are: you can be bullied online, people always look things up, and never really use books, and lot's of people are constantly on their phones, so they never go and experience real life. Now, for the good: you are able to connect with friends that may have moved away, if you get kidnapped you can call the police, another thing is that sometimes you aren't able to get to a library, so you can read books online.
I agree their are pros and cons to having a phone.
I think that it is a bad thing because some kids now are just glued to an Ipad, Ipod, xbox, or what ever kind of games they can get. Also kids have no clue how to use a book or spell because spell-check does it for them. Now there are some good kinds of technology like some kids who cant talk so they use a communication device to help them talk but they will be good at spelling thats for sure.
In the last sentence, you spelled can't like this. Cant. You forgot to put an apostrophe.
I still kind of agree with you though. People are getting more and more glued to their screens and not focusing on the outside-world. They also don't really know how to spell because of spell-check. But still having the world at your fingertips still has its ups and downs.
I love everything you said. I think that this is exactly how it is now a days. Everybody is glued to there electronic devices. Yes it can be a good thing if you don't get to talk to people far away, but that doesn't mean that you need to be on it all the time. I like you thinking! :)
Yes and No, because there are so much that can benefit us and so much that can bring us down with technology. I'll start with the benefits, I love being able to type people birthdays in my calendar and it remind me, I mean who wouldn't. But some people are so obsessed that they don't get off there phone and then there are girls that post the super sad qoutes that make you just want to throw away your phone. I bet their is something we can all agree on. Pinterest make all technology good.
The world at my fingertips hmmm... personally for me I think it is a good but bad idea. The main reason why it is good is because you can find information faster, you can entertain yourselves wether it be playing a game or reading, and you can stay connected with friends through the world of social media. Now time for the reason it is bad. The reasons being people getting bullied, not getting enough exercise because you are stuck on your phone or other device, and if you were to post something that you didn't want to you could never take it back.
It could be a bad or good thing. I agree that you can be entertained. I think it is bad too if you get bullied. I agree on everything you said.
I agree with you Ava. There are ways that it can be good and bad. There are some advantages, disadvantages, etc. I strongly comply with your statements.
I think it is both a bad thing and good thing to have technology because if you are trying to look up one thing, it might come up with something inappropriate or irrelavent and also if you can't connect to internet, you can't do much on your device. You could even get bullied and verbally abused on the internet. It is a good thing because instead of carrying heavy books around, you can just carry this very light device that holds all of your books in it. You can also look up information for projects and connect with your friends.
I agree with you Sarah, there are many advantages and disadvantages. It just depends on who is using the internet, as a resources or a way to be cruel over the internet.
I think that if we actually had the world at our finger tips that we wouldnt know what to do we would prolly be more rude to each other and we would always be on our phones and not pay attenchion to the world and whats really going on in real life and i also think that it would be a good think because we could use all this technalagy to help us with homework and school but some people take advantage of that more than they would keep it for learning when you have the world at your finger tips its really not a very good thing cause people post random things on facebook or instagram snapchat and all those apps that teens use they post like bad things or things about other people and bully them to get atention i dont see why we cant be good to others on the internet and keep the world civil 💯💯😂😂😕😕
I am in between on this having the world at your fingertips is kind of a scary thought because people put credit cards and other information on there phone they can do online banking. Like a kid in my class brought to my attention just because it says they cant hack it just means it is harder. It is also bad because you can get bullied online it can just bring you down by one random person saying something negative can make your day bad. There are some really good things about technology to like you can see what they are doing through video chat like Facetime. You can also look things up faster and easier. It can also be good for school work to email your teachers or to write an essay. In school you can get books on a computer and then you don't have to carry around super heavy books.
I completely agree with you on this subject. There are many advantages and disadvantages. If you need to look everything up for every single thing you do you won't learn anything. So when the worlds power shuts down you'll be prepared. You never know what could happen.
